Using This Guide - Help



Choosing a topic
This guide aims to be a simple yet handy guide for beginners wishing to learn how to make simple and efficient web pages or even complete sites. It has been divided up into languages (for instance HTML and CSS would be in separate areas). Those areas are then split up into topics and in turn, each topic has a selection of links in that direct you to the induvidual tutorial. Like So:




Notes
Notes are shown in a light yellow box and displays a speech bubble icon.

NOTE:

Notes are displayed like this and will give you important things to bear in mind or even to just think about



Code
When a chunk of code is given, it will be displayed in a silver box similar to the one below - the icon will also resemble what language the code focuses on.

CODE:

The icons resemble the following languages

= (X)HTML
= CSS
= JS
= VBS
= DHTML
= XML



Tasks
Some tutorials may come with a task that you may find helpful to do - it will test to see if you understood what the tutorial was about. The answers are given but cannot be seen until a button is clicked underneath. Try completing them without looking at the answers!

Task:

Try writing a script that displays an alert box saying "hello world" as soon as a button is pressed






Resources
Some pages may have extra documents associated with them which you may need or find handy. They are shown in the red boxes usually found at the bottom of the page.

Colour Table Color Table - Provides tools for selecting color names and values.

Tag List Tag List - Provides an extensive list of all current tags along with thier description, available attributes and properties; plus what browsers support them.

Entity List Entity List - Provides a list of all character entities along with thier codes.
